-
The woman on the new farm flirts with George, but she is already married with the son of the owner- Curley- who is not specially nice.
in this time era, There were few women out on the farms and in general amoung the poor people. Curlys wife tries to get attention by flirting with all the workers on the farm, because the only thing she can use to draw attention is her beauty.
When george finds out that lennie has a dead mouse, he throws it away, because it can carry diseases, and it is no point in petting a dead mouse.

the colour dress can in this connection mean both danger, blood and love. Georges love aganist Lennie, but also what is about to happen of bad things- danger, blood.
The mouse in the story can be a metaphore for Lennie. Lennie is big physically, but he is small and scared, easy to harm and careful mentally. When the mouse dies, it can show that Lennie will die soon as well. Or that Lennie is going to kill Curleys wife. He kills with affection. The puppy is also a metaphore for this, closer up to Lennies death.
the mouses death was an incident, and Lennies death is sort of as well
