Ch 1 & 2
4.They decide to take the baby to the doctor and the whole village follows, as they get into town, the beggars even follow to see what drama will happen at the doctors. The doctor is rich and fat and Spanish and lives in the city.
5.Juana chews up seaweed for a poultice to put on Coyotito's sting and it's just as good as anything that "costs money" Juana prays to God and other older Gods of her people for a great pearl to pay the doctor bill.
3.Juana wants the doctor to come and see the baby; the townspeople say the doctor will not come he never comes. The doctor is rich and fat and Spanish and lives in the city.
6.Kino and Juana and Coyotito go out in the canoe to dive for pearls. Juana paddles as well as any man.
2.During breakfast, Coyotito is stung by a scorpion. When the baby screams, Juana sucks the poison out. The entire village shows up to see what's wrong with the baby.
7.Kino is proud and strong and can stay on the bottom digging pearls for over 2 mins without strain, he's in his prime.
1.Kino gets up in the morning and goes out to watch the sunrise over the water. His wife Juana is making breakfast and his baby has gone back to sleep. Everything is perfect.
8.Kino finds a great pearl in and yells in celebration when he gets to the surface which causes the other men to paddle towards his canoe.
