Born George Keefer Brewer on January 5, 1914 in Woolstock Iowa, George Reeves film career began in 1939 when he was cast as Stuart Tarleton, one of Scarlett O'Hara's suitors in Gone with the Wind. In June 1951, Reeves was offered the role of a lifetime when he was cast as Superman in a new television series entitled The Adventures of Superman. It was a role he would remain in until 1958. Unfortunately, Reeves life would end at the young age of 45 under suspicious circumstances. on June 16, 1959, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the report of a gunshot at the actor's residence in Benedict Canyon between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00. When they arrived, Reeves was found unresponsive in an upstairs bedroom with a fatal wound to the head. Ruled a self-inflicted death, controversy would arise when stories later emerged of a riff between Reeves and guests shortly before he went to bed. <audio src="https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/j9kb119zi9bd4b2/Superman.mp3?dl=0" /> Get ready for your next question.
