CV: Vessels
Fetal Circulation
-
-
-
blood from R atrium is diverted to L atrium via foramen ovale; this blood flows in to L ventricle and pumped out to aorta
-
-
-
blood travels to rest of body, deoxygenated blood returns to placenta via umbilical arteries
Systemic Circulation
-
-
descending abd aorta supplies lower abd with use of celiac, mesenteric, renal and gonadal arteries
-
-
-
deoxygenated blood returns to heart, dumped into R atrium to begin pulmonary circulation and repeat cycle
Pulmonary Circulation
blood is then pumped via pulmonary venules, convertin gin to veins back to left atrium
-
blood flows through L AV valve into L ventricle, pumped through L semilunar valve into Aorta
each artery goes to corresponding lung, arteries divide in to arterioles
from righ ventricle pumps through right semilunar valve into pulmnary trunk, bifurcating into R & L pulmonary arteries
-
Hepatic Circulation
each triad consists of Hepatic artery, central vein and bile duct where exchange of nutrients occur
deoxygenated blood from right, middle and left hepatic vein drain into large hepatic vein towards Inferior vena cava

Placental Circulation
-
-
O2 rich blood supplies fetus, deoxygenated blood returns to placenta via umbilical arteries
