1789 - French and Brit Revolution
- Brit saw themselves as a defender against Napeolonic Tyrany
- The French saw themselves as agents of democracy
- Federalists admired Britains power
- Democradic Republicans Admired Frances culture
- Britain had more control over the ocean which was a concern

1793-1806 Various shoot outs were happening at the time, and it was partially caused by alcohol. Slavery was big, but now you didn't need land to vote. This was particularly done by workers, and victimized slaves, indians and sometimes family
1802 - Jefferson sends a Letter to the sad bapidist of Congretional Connecticut. It was about seperating church from state in terms of tax. Connecticut was one of the 4 states that funded religion with tax money. The others being:
- New Hampshire
- Massachusets
- Maryland
It was similar to a letter washington wrote but this time there was going to be action
1792-1800 Second great awakening
- elites were diest and workers completely ignored religion
- Evangelical Christianity becomes big

Methodists
- John Welsey and His brother Charle Preach in Georgia
- Francais Asbury establishes American Methodism as the first bishop for it and makes the circuit riders, a really organized group of the protestant ministry
- Organised and United and run by circuit riders
Bapidists
- John Welsey
- It empathised free will and emotion
- It was decentralized with many rival groups
- It was normally lead by farmers
Slavery
- Religous revival meant that people mixed when preachers were called however they were preached to be submissive
Catholism and Jewish
- These people were the minority and depended on the freedom of religion
- Catholics were mostly in New Orleans and were democratic
- The Jewish were moreso republican
1803-1812 Britain was searching American ships and stealing their sailors which was bad for american freedom and economy. This was even worse because Jefferson had just cut back the army built up by Adams
Tension with a new Generation of Indians over treaty of Greenville
- This was lead by the brotheres Tenskwatawa (the prophet) and Shawnee (the military leader)
- Their dad was killed by white people
and they had a low level of trust with americans and their promises
- They ran around and recruited the Cherokees, the Choctaws and the Creeks
