  - - - Holding hands wasn't optional. However, giving a thank you to the partner for the same thing he've done doesn't make people awkward. It rather makes the other partner feel good. Also after saying a complimentary statement, he talks about the result about how they suited you like an assuring the other.
    - - Katniss was underrating herself from the skills she can do in the woods. Peeta knew the skills which he blurted out compliments that will effect her positively on her training and her games too. If they were to kill each other at last, it wouldn't be helpful for Peeta to help Katniss train, but he helped her anyways.
  - - - Katniss knows that he's asking for the explanation even though he doesn't says it. He helps her, just because he wants the back story of the traitor that Katniss seem to know about.
- - - - In the part where she speaks about the starving in the District 12, she says in a sarcastic way meaning she doesn't appreciate or like what district twleve has.
      - She've scared her mother to death because she has blurted things negative or towards the capitol and about her environment when she was way younger. So she is cautious of the consequences which is the reason why she is speaking in the woods where no one can hear her.
  - - - Most of the people wants to say bad things about the Capitol and the districts when they are alone even it doesn't make any changes. However, Katniss thinks if there's no change, there is no use of saying it if it bothers the present by scaring off other animals which is their food.
    - - If a tribute gets a low score, there is high possibility of not getting any sponsors. However, that doesn't mean that she would die because of it. Thinking that she will die shows that she isn't very optimistic.
  - - - Even though going to those places might remind her of her father's death which was horrifying, she goes beyond and she does it alone even when it was her very first time to do any of the actions.
  - - - Thinking of her house and family and friends back in district 12 doesn't help Katniss. However, she is calm about her present and rather feels more relaxed and calm because she thinks of her own house in district 12.
    - - Katniss keeps on asking about her family, about how they are living and keeps imagining her family without herself. She thinks of how they might feel about herself and hopes that she might be a slight of hope, and hoping that she didn't add to their fear.
    - - She doesn't think about herself, or her live which is more at stake than mother and Prim who is far away. However, Katniss thinks about them more and their lives than her own. This shows that she is very caring towards her family.
- - - - When Gale left to meet Katniss that is getting ready for the hunger games which may cost her life, instead of comforting her with sweet lies, he gives realistic advices such as using the knives that also encouraging.
- - - - Peeta was also going to the Hunger games as well as Katniss. In the hunger games, it is essential to kill each other in order to win and survive back. So some time, Peeta would have to kill Katniss or the other way around. However, rather than threatening or saying words about his son, he gives a promise that is one thing that Katniss is worried about; Prim.
- - - - Even when Katniss was being rude to her and being more of a independent opposite of what Katniss's mom wants, she still gives her one of her best clothes that has personal meaning to herself.
      - Katniss's mom gave up her past for her present and future which are the two daughters she has Katniss and Prim. Prim doesn't need or have any help from mom since she doesn't need much. On the other hand, as Katniss take over the food, shelter the living for the house alone, her mother gave her the clothing that was important to her.
- - - - The word choice of one decent shows differentiation between the poor and the rich. Also, she tries to throw food to the pigs even if others can still eat it.
  - - - Peeta's mom had hit Peeta with the stick only because Peeta burnt two bread which was their food.
- - - - District 12 was very poor city. Many of the people died from starving. Even if the Mayor had more money than others, a badge made out of pure gold is rare to find which is very valuable to Madge too. However, to help Katniss do well and wish her luck, she gives the one thing that is precious to her.
- - - - Haymitch's job is to guide the tribute from district 12 to be at least close to winning as a experienced and expert on the hunger games because he has experienced it. However, he just drink few bottles of alcohol and peeta is taking care of him.
    - - Before dinner, many people came to encourage the tributes like Cinna, EffieTrinket...etc. However, the real mentor who was actually responsible, just came to eat as dinner was served. Looking clean is one of the basic manners, however, it shows that this was their first time actually seeing him clean.
- - - - With her naked body, her hair was the smallest little detail he could have observed. However, he recognized the details and even made comments that only observant people can comment.
  - - - Many of the stylist before came to have fun by humiliating the tributes from District 12. On the other hand, Cinna has seen this as the stylist of district 1 would see their tributes. He wasn't trying to humiliate Katniss, but trying to make her stand out unlike the other stylists before.
    - - Having flames takes a long time and effort to the costume which is only for Katniss. Cinna calms Katniss a lot and Katniss relies on Cinna a lot.
- - - - Complimenting about the costumes was basically a compliment to the stylists, who made their costumes. However, she added to the compliments to how grateful they acted during the ceremony. Also, she has been going around the whole day to get even one more sponsors for them in the games.
