Characters
Katniss
She very good at hunting.
In the woods waits the only person with whom I can be myself. Gale . I can feel the muscle in my face relaxing, my pace quickening a I climb the hills to our place, a rock ledge overlooking a valley. Pg 6
She will do anything to save her sister, Prim.
I protect Prim in every way I can , but I'm powerless against the reaping. Pg 15
"I volunteer!" I gasp. "I volunteer as tribute!" Pg 22
She does believes people are good at hiding their emotions
A warning bell goes off in my head. Don't be so stupid. Peeta is planing how to kill you, I remind myself. He is luring you in to make you easy prey. The more likable he is, the more deadly he is. Pg 72
For there to be betrayal, there would have to have been trust first. Between Peeta and me. And trust has been part of the agreement.
Maybe he's finally accepted the fact that the sooner we openly acknowledge that we are enemies, the better.
She is strong minded, Stoic
i say harshly, because this is upsetting me and I don't want to cry. When they televise the replay of the reaping tonight, everyone will make note of my tears, and I'll be Pg 23
Katniss doesn't show her emotions.
The time allotted for the tributes to say goodbye to their loved ones. I cannot afford to get upset, to leave the room with putty eyes and a red nose. Crying is not an option. There will be more camera at the train station. Pg 34
She thinks about Peeta
"What about you? I've seen you in the market. You can lift hundred-pound bag of flour," I snap at him. "Tell him that. That's nothing."
He can wrestle," I tell Haymitch.
He has the audience from the get-go, though; I can hear them laughing, shouting out. Pg 130
I can't help felling guilty . tomorrow we will be in the arena. He has done me a favor and I have answered with an injury. Will I never stop owing him. Pg 137
It was her first time giggling
I'm also giggling, which I think I've done maybe never in my lifetime. But the nerves and the spinning have gotten to me.
After she knew Peeta liked her
Then I can see my face, mouth half open in a mix of surprise and protest, magnified on the every screen as I realize,
Me! He means me!
"This was your idea, wasn't it? Turning me into some kind of fool in front of the entire country?" I answer.
"He made me look weak!" I say.
After finding out that the plan was all for her.
The words are sinking in. My anger fading. I'm torn now between thinking I've been used and thinking I've been given an edge. Haymitch is right. I survived my interview, but what was I really? Pg 136
She thinks Rue more than Prim in the games.
But this is Prim's, I mean, Rue's last request, I have to at least try. Pg 234
She starts to understand other people's feelings about the Captitol
Gale's voice is in my head. His raving against the Capitol no longer pointless, no longer to be ignored. Pg 236
I want to do something, right here, right now, to shame them to make accountable, to show the Capitol that whatever they do or force us to do there is a part of every tribute they can't own. That Rue was more then a piece in their Games. And so am I. Pg 236~237
She thanks to the people in District Eleven
Peeta

I noticed him, a boy with blond hair peering out from behind his mother's back. Pg 30

To this day, I can never shake the connection between this boy , Peeta Mellark , and the bread that gave me hope, and the dandelion that reminded me that I was not doomed. Pg 32
Peeta was chosen as the boy tribute
She zips back to the podium, and I don't even have time to wish for Gale's safety when she's reading the name . "Peeta Mellark." Pg 24
His looks
Medium height, stocky build Pg 25
All those years of having enough to eat and hauling bread trays around have made him broad-shouldered and strong. Pg 41
His actions
"All right," I say. "I can send one of the Capitol people to help you." There's any number on the train. Cooking for us. Waiting on us. Guarding us. Taking care of us is their job. "No. I don't want them'" says Peeta Pg49
Peeta likes Katness
"I don't thinkit's going to work out. Winning . . . won't help in my case," says Peeta. "Why ever not?" says Caesar, mystified. Peeta blushes beet red and stammers out. "Because . . . because . . . she came with me." Pg 130
"Well, I don't think that any of us can blame you. It'd be hard not to fall for that young lady," says Caesar. "She didn't know?" Peeta shakes his head. "Not until now." Pg 133
Peeta thinks about Katniss
"She's excellent," says Peeta. "My father buys her squirrels. He always comments on how the arrows never pierce the body. She hits every one in the eyes. It's the same with the rabbits she sells the butcher. She can even bring down deer."
"You are a fool ," Haymitch says in disgust. " do you think he hurt you? That boy just gave you something you could never achieve on your own." Pg 135
"He made you look desirable! And let's face it, you can use all the help you can get in that department. You were about as romantic as dirt until he said he wanted you. Now they all do. You're all they they're taking about. The star-crossed lover form District Twelve!" says Haymitch. Pg 135
He thinks about the games
" I don't know how to says it exactly. Only . . . I want to die as myself. Does that makes any sense?" he asks
"I don't want them to change me in there. Turn me into some kind of monster that I'm not." Pg 141
Cinna
Looks
But Cinna's close-cropped hair appears to be its natural shade of brown. He's in a simple black shirt and pants. The only concession to self-alteration seems to metallic gold eyeliner that has been applied with a light hand. Pg 63
His actions
It crosses my mind that Cinna's calm and normal demeanor masks a complete madman. Pg 67
His creative mind
"And what do we do with coal? We burn it," says Cinna "You're not afraid of fire, are you. Katniss?" He sees My expressions and grins. "It's not real flame, of course, just a little synthetic fire Portia and I came up came up with. You'll be perfectly safe," he says. Pg 67
He cares about Katniss
I think I'm finished when Cinna pulls the gold mocking-jay pin from his pocket. I had completely Forgotten about it. Pg 145
He tells about feeling and thinking
"And remember this. I'm not allowed to bet, but if I could, my money would be on you." "Truly?" I whisper. "Truly," says Cinna. Pg 146~147

"All right, I'll make a deal with you. You don't interfere with my drinking, and I'll stay sober enough to help you'" says Haymitch. "But you have to do exactly what I say." Pg 58
He is the only me who seal the sponsors.
"Unfortunately, I can't seal the sponsor deals for you. Only Haymitch ca do that," says Effie grimly. "But don't worry, I'll get him to the table at gunpoint if necessary
Gale
He hunts with Katniss
Gale and I divide our spoils, leaving two fish, a couple of loaves of good bread, greens , a quart of strawberries, salt, paraffin, and a bit of money for each. Pg 14
Gale likes Katniss
"We could do it you know" Gale says quietly. "What" I ask. "Leave the district. Run off. Live in the woods. You and I, we could make it," says Gale. "If we didn't have so many kids," he adds quickly. Pg.9
