        She does not like how the capitol is running the country; more specifically about District 12.
  - - - She says that the conversation with Gale seems wrong because leaving District 12 would mean leaving the family alone. Even if she wanted to leave, Prim would force her to stay.
  - - - This shows that Katniss cares about her only sister, Prim so much that she would die for her; she's brave and caring.
  - - - This is an interesting piece of information; normally, you would feel sorry for the person you shoved and got injured, but instead, Katniss feels guilty. Guilty and sorry are two different things. Sorry is when you understand and admit that you did something wrong to say sorry, but guilty is when you 'feel' like you did the wrong thing or just being conscious of the fact that you caused a problem.
  - - - Even though Peeta is being very kind, Katniss sets up a barrier and does not take his actions friendly.
    - - This phrase again shows that Katniss is looking at Peeta in a negative way.
    - - She easily accuses people and does not trust anyone except for people she truly trust.
  - - - This sentence clearly tells us that Katniss wants to go back home.
  - - - Katniss does the unexpected again; she is very brave and threatens the gamekeepers.
  - - - While chapters earlier than 8 illustrates that Katniss dislikes her mother and does not trust her, this phrase suggests that now not only Katniss wants to protect her sister, but her mom too; maybe her mind opened up to her finally.
    - - While Katniss is in danger of death, she still cares more about her family more than her. Once she trusts her someone,
  - - - Phrases 'I don't want him in the arena where he'd be dead in a few days' and 'I just... I just miss him' both shows that Katniss has a special emotion against him.
  - - - Katniss hates the fact that the Capitol people want to know more about herself and the fact that they are a big part of her chances of surviving.
  - - - Katniss turns her strange emotions towards to Peeta into other reasons such as her family to lie to herself that she has nothing to do with Peeta.
  - - - While normal people will fall into madness in such condition, she already thinks about her sponsors and how she wants it to play it out.
  - - - Katniss usually doesn't believe in many people, and Cinna is the only Capitol person she trusts in.
  - - - After Katniss scavenged a bow, she gets new hopes to actually win the game.

- - - - The sentence clearly shows us that Peeta's crush is Katniss; this could possibly be one of what Haymitch asked him to do, which is weird, since afterwards, they would have to kill each other anyways.

        Now it means that Peeta has really been truthful.
