- - - - Katniss could just escape with Gale but instead she declines and the reason is because of her family. She is devoted and feels it is her duty to protect the family.
    - - Although Katniss hated the cat Prim brought home, she was caring and understanding for her sister and let her keep it.
    - - Katniss risks entering the Hunger Games (which is risking her life) so that she and her family has food to eat.
    - - Katniss thinks that it is good that Peeta is alive, and the reason is not because she truly cares for Peeta, but she cares for her family
  - - - Katniss volunteers for Prim. She is risking herself just for her sister.
    - - Even though Katniss hated the cat, she let him stay just for Prim.
    - - Katniss doesn't even cry when she volunteers but when Prim was called, she felt very terrible.
  - - - Here we can see that Katniss's father also hunted
    - - This gives evidence that Prim is like her mother, and not her father, who we can assume assembles Katniss.
    - - This can also be evidence since Katniss liked to hunt, just like her father but Prim didn't.
  - - - Katniss is very smart and knows how to control her emotions so that she doesn't look weak in front of other people. She is thinking ahead.
    - - Instead of getting upset and crying, Katniss doesn't waste time and tells her family all the things they need to do. She is responsible and smart to do so.
    - - It was a smart move to get the gamemakers attention and to show her amazing skills
    - - Katniss's fast thinking helped her overcome her first danger/emergency.
    - - She is smart so even in the moments of fear, she acts so that she doesn't look weak in front of people.
  - - - Instead of trusting Peeta and thinking he is being kind to her, she strictly believes that Peeta is just acting kind and that Peeta is fighting hard to kill her.
    - - This is also evidence that Katniss thinks Peeta is purely acting nicely.
    - - Without thinking about how beneficial he was being and how his words could help her get more sponsors, Katniss just thinks negatively and shoves him, making him get an injury a day before the games.
  - - - Katniss feels lonely even with lots of people around her
      - Katniss misses Gale and the happy times she had with him
    - - Katniss continuously thinks of Prim and her mother.
    - - Even with the shortage of resources and the dull life in District 12, Katniss was happy sometimes. Now, even with all the luxuries she has never had before, Katniss is unhappy and sad.
  - - - This shows how Katniss doesn't tell things about herself and how she really hides herself
      - However Haymitch asks about her, Katniss hides herself.
    - - This tells how Katniss also doesn't act like someone else. She just doesn't want to show herself but still doesn't want
  - - - Unlike her past behavior of hiding and running, her perspective changed and she is now confident and ready to fight.
      - The weapons give her a entirely new perspective
    - - Katniss is confident so she says the hunger games begin for real now.
  - - - Katniss asks Rue to form alliances.
      - She shares her scarce food source with Rue.
    - - Katniss truly trusts Rue says she reminds of Prim. Katniss really loves and cares for Prim, and saying that Rue reminds her of Prim tells us about her special relationship.
    - - Unlike other alliances in the Hunger Games, they are an actual alliance with no misgivings about each other.
    - - She shouts her name and lets enemies know where she are hoping it can benefit Rue.
    - - Katniss cared for Rue a lot so when Rue was dying, Katniss felt she was dying.
  - - - She feels hatred against the capitol and wanted to show them something.
- - - - Even though Peeta knew his mother didn't want him to give food to Katniss, he sneaked food for Katniss, who was starving. This shows how he is kind and caring.
    - - Peeta helped Katniss even though he didn't know her.
  - - - This is the part where peeta publically says that he likes Katniss.
        Although we do not know yet if this is true or false, he was trying to help Katniss, and he did help her. It made her unforgettable and look desirable.
    - - They could have killed Katniss at the spot but peeta is giving her a chance and time to escape.
    - - He could have just ran away himself but unlike Katniss thought, he helped Katniss and risked his like saving hers.
  - - - The conversation between Peeta and Katniss can tell us how Peeta actually thinks Katniss can win.
  - - - There were the group of tributes talking. However, there is also Peeta's voice so we know how he is going with the careers.
- - - - This tells us how after Katniss's father died, Katniss mother can't live properly. Even with her two daughters, she takes no responsibility over them and does nothing.
    - - Before Katniss's mother even had a job, but now she doesn't do anything to help the living of their family, even with two kids.
  - - - Katniss's mother didn't do anything for a while but now that Katniss is leaving she is starting to work again.

      - Katniss is still afraid to loose her again

- - - - Since Haymitch doesn't come to the Reaping day seriously, and instead drunk, we can see that he doesn't think of it very important.
      - He doesn't think of the hunger games importantly and treats it like it is a joke
  - - - Haymitch's behavior is very different from how he used to act, always drunk and not serious.
      - He is starting to act more seriously about the Hunger games and is giving them actual advice.
    - - He is actually making plans for them and giving them good advice.
    - - Actually being strategic and giving them advice.
    - - Although Katniss earned the sponsor, there is still Haymitch's effort in giving her a sponsor. Just like what katniss says, he hasn't abandoned her yet.
- - - - Rue was there but has been unnoticed. She is very talented in hiding and staying quiet. She must also be extremely good at climbing.
    - - This adds evidence how she is very good at hiding. She doesn't make a single sound and she is very observant.
  - - - The fact that she makes an alliance with Katniss tells us Rue trusts Katniss.
    - - Rue fixes Katniss's stings. If she didn't trust Katniss, she wouldn't tell Katniss her secrets in fixing the stings.
    - - She shares her low food supply.
- - - - We can imply that Gale thinks Katniss and himself over his family, since he suggested to run away and leave his family, even when he is the oldest kid.
