anything to the power of zero is one
anything to the power of one is itself
exponents can have a negative sign
-7^2 = -1 x 7 x 7 = -49
(-5)^4 = -5 x -5 x -5 x -5 = 625
Perfect Squares
a whole number times itself makes a perfect square
0, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100, 121, 144, 169, 196, 225, 256, 289, 324, 361, 400
Square Roots
square roots and perfect squars are opposite
everything in this unit requires knowledge of exponents.
Scientific Notation
it has exponents in it
Negative exponents mean small number
possitive exponents make a big nuymber
All numbers in scientific notation, THAT WE HAVE LEARNED THUS FAR, are greater than zero (cause we havent dealt with positive numbers).

How I convert a negative exponent with a base of 10 to a percent: You place into decimal and move the decimal by 2 spaces to the right
