Benefits of Wetlands
Wetlands act the natural health expense clean water they prevent flooding and maintain River flow in.
Low spread critical habitat for fish and wildlife as well as beatiful scenarey and oppotunities for recreation
Wetlands are able to provide these benefits because of water to and from the wetland
Without a wetland or hydrology that supports them many of these important ecosystem benefits could be lost

What makes a wetland a wetland making it flourising
Wetlands are made from water, soils and plants.
Wetlands are not puddle, lake, pond, stream, river.
Wetlands are areas with saturated water. Not all wet lands have saturated water
Wetlands hold and absorb water.
The movement of water is known as hdnology.
Wetlands are always underwater other are rarely flooded.
Many people think wetlands are muddy but wetlands can look dry for most of the year.
Wetlands have hydric soil these are regulary flooded or saturated soils
Most non wetland soils are full of oxgen, but in hydric soils the water replaces the oxygen, this changes the soil chemistry so thats why wetlands usally smell like roten egg.
Plants like sunflower will quickley die because of hydric soil but not wetland plants.
They are many other types of wetlands Marsh, Swamp, Bog and Fen
Wetlands have good benefits
There are lots of grass and wasteland in the river.
