Places the emphasis on teamwork-makes time to explain to the group why they matter which builds confidence and trust between employees and management
Consequently individual and group performance improves i. t.o creativity, problem solving and productivity
Employees are inspired and motivated to such a degree that they often achieve more than they thought possible.
This leader has the ability to focus on both the task and the team shows employees appreciation and never hesitates to praise an employee who deserves it.
Autocratic

Disadvantage of this style is that employees often have a low morale as they feel undervalued by the manager
Laissez-faire

Manager will tell employees what is expected from them but now how these objectives should be achieved
This style works well if there is a highly-skilled workforce, motivated to perform optimally
Democratic
Allows subordinates to provide input and participate in decision-making process-sometimes referred to as the participative leadership style.

Transactional
An approach of give and take- manager motivating employees to perform their tasks in return for a reward ( could be a bonus or other benefits)
Problem is that if the employees feel reward is not sufficient, they become unmotivated which could result in labour unrest
