In sum, results support a divergence between the two constructs of functioning and their underlying components. Functional capacity of
patients with schizophrenia is mainly related to neurocognitive variables, whereas real-life behaviour, is more complex and requires the
integrations of different factors including symptoms, with a major role of social cognitive abilities, especially empathy.
