        Mannitol 0,5g/kg over 30 minutes as a single dose (risk of toxicity)
        
        Dopamine (2-5μg/kg/min) – in the absence of hypertension

        loss of corticomedullary differentiation (cortical necrosis)
        
        enlarged kidneys
        
        stones/tumor in urinary tract
      - small kidneys of chronic kidney disease, or large, bright kidneys with loss of cortical medullary differentiation typical of an acute process.
- - - - renal underperfusion -> early vasoconstriction leading to tubular cell necrosis
      - commonly reversible
    - - severe vascular compromise leading to atrerial or venous thrombosis
      - permanent loss of renal function (tissue death)
