Eukaryotic Cell Organelles
Cell Membrane
Key/Lock on Door: The cell membrane decided what comes in and out of the cell and a key hole ensure that only people with keys to the house can come in and out.
Cytoplasm
Tupperware: Cytoplasm keeps everything organized inside the cell and together and the tupperware hold all the extra food and keep it organized.
Nucleus
Cooking Recipe: The nucleus has the DNA recipe for the cell and it also tells the cell what to do and a recipe tells you how to make whatever it is you are making.
Ribosomes
Protein Powder: Ribosomes make protein for the cell to use and the protein powder is make for us to use.
Rough ER
Oven: The Rough ER holds the ribosomes which make protein and an oven holds uncooked food which then turns into something else.
Smooth ER
Dishwasher Soap Pods: The smooth ER uses enzymes to remove "junk" from the cell and the dishwasher pods use enzymes to clean dishes.
Golgi Apparatus
Cardboard Box: The golgi body packages and sends off ribosomes and a cardboard box packages items that will be shipped off.
Lysosomes
Vacuum: Lysosomes "clean up" the cell and get rid of an bad stuff and vacuums clean up the house and get rid of dirt.
Vacuole
Refrigerator: The vacuoles hold mostly water and other extra items and fridges hold extra food and materials for the kitchen.
Mitochondria
Electricity: Mitochondria is the power house of the cell and electricity powers all technology in houses.
Microfilaments
Thread in Clothing: Microfilaments are thin but strong threads that are in the cytoskeleton and thread in clothes are thing but strong enough to keep the clothes together for wear.
Microtubules
Support Beams: Microtubules are part of the cytoskeleton and support the cell, the beams are part of the foundation of the house and support the house.
Chloroplast (plants only)
Blender: Chloroplast turns sunlight into energy and the blender turns the food into energy for us.
Cell Wall (plants only)
Walls:Cell walls protect the cell from the outside and keep everything in, and walls protect and keep everything in the house inside.
