anterior root
carries nerve impulses away from CNS ; motor fibers
posterior root
impulses towards CNS ; sensory fibers
small posterior ramus
pass posteriorly and supply the muscle and skin of back
they join to form nerve plexus
large anterior ramus
both sensory and motor fibers
muscle and skin of of body wall and limbs
spinal nerve is mixture fibers of motor and sensory
by these 2 they are connected to spinal cord
