US advocates and gets European Nations to allow all countries to have equal access to Chinese sea ports used as trading posts.
US had two goals with Open Door Policy: Preserve China as a country, This was the way U.S. business could obtain resources from China with out directly competing with europeans nations and japan and prevented US from creating a sphere of Influence in China.
