Farming in the Burren:
In The Burren cattle and sheep graze in upland areas during summer
Lowland areas are flooded during winter
Ailwee Cave; A
In 1944 a farmer from Ballyvaughan discovered the Ailwee Cave. He didn't tell anyone about it until 1973. He told a group of cavers They discovered a cave system with over 1km of passages.
The cave system was formed as a result of rainwater dripping through cracks in the limestone.

The sea was close to a large aincent landmass called Lauruissia
350 million years ago Ireland was situated south of the equator

How was limestone formed?
1.Remains of dead animals,corel reef & marine plants fell on the seabed 2. They were squashed by the weight of the water & formed deposits of sediment.3.Over millions of years the sediment formed limestone. 4. Some areas of limestone were uplifted as fold mountains.
Uses of Limestone
Cement 2. material in buildings & roads, Toothpaste, Antiacid, and paint.
