Water Cycle
-
Transpiration-is the process where plants absorb water through the roots and then give off water vapor through pores in their leaves.
Condensation water that collects as droplets on a cold surface when humid air is in contact with it.
Precipitation-when the atmosphere cannot hold the water molecules any more they fall to earth as precipitation.
-
Runoff-when ground cannot absorb any more water it goes until it flows into a river or stream. This is called a runoff.
-
Wind and convection
Westerlies-The westerlies, anti-trades, or prevailing westerlies, are prevailing winds from the west toward the east
Trade Winds-The trade winds are the prevailing pattern of easterly surface winds found in the tropics, within the lower portion of the Earth's atmosphere, in the lower section of the troposphere near the Earth's equator
Local Winds
Sea and land Breeze-A sea breeze or onshore breeze is any wind that blows from a large body of water toward or onto a landmass
Mountain/valley Breeze-. During the day, the sun heats up mountain air rapidly while valley remains relatively cooler. Convection causes it to rise, causing a valley breeze. At night, the process is reversed.
Air Quality
Air pollution
Gases-an air like fluid substance which expands freely to fill any space available, irrespective of its quantity.
-
Global Warming
Greenhouse effect-The greenhouse effect is caused by gases that trap heat, they are good ,but there is getting to many and it is warming up earth to much.
Greenhouse Gases-Greenhouse gases trap heat such as Co2,Methane and N2o.
