Heat energy is transferred by the movement of a gas or liquid as it expands and rises and cooler mass takes its place. Occurs until a constant temperature is reached.

Heat is transferred from one source to another directly. Vibrating molecules create a “chain reaction” causing neighbouring molecules to vibrate and heat up as well.
