Ravneet Singh (523):
If I was a Uber driver I would charge based on the distance and not displacement. This maters because when you are driving the distance is where you use your gas to get from one place to another. Also, the displacement is how far you go to get to a certain place but because in some cases you have to take a detour or go another way it is better to charge for distance. This shows that a vector is the amount you have to move to get to a certain place and a distance is how much you traveled to get to a certain place or area. This is why I would charge for the amount of distance covered not for the displacement. Lastly, I will make more money charging by distance compared to displacement.
Juliana 529: If I was an uber driver I would charge for distance not displacement. The reason I would charge for distance instead is because you will take a longer path if you go by distance.Distance can have many different paths to get get to one described point. So therefore you can take the longest point and make more money.Although displacement is more of a straight line from point a to point b so it will always be the shortest route. For example if my ending point is relatively close someone's starting point and i take the longest path possible than it will not matter since the displacement is small because the starting and endpoint or close. By using the displacement i am making less money for my driving services.
