Tiger Tanks Soil Plant SOP Parameters
Misc. Checks
Equipment labeling is inconsistent - rectify
Startup
Pre-Startup Checks (should have MSDS)
General Parameters
Dryer rotation: 1 - 5rpm
Nominal feed: 2;0-5.0 tons/hr
CRUCIAL OPERATING PARAMETERS
Soil Discharge Temperature: 800-950 deg F
Pugmill discharge temp: 150-200 deg F
Converter unit outlet temp: 1400-2000 degF
Baghouse Inlet: 300-400 degF
DRYER
Burner suction draft: 0.20-.25 In. H2O
is there a gauge missing here? which gauge is it?
Gas stream exiting dryer: 50-100degF higher than soil processing temperature
Dryer warmup - exhaust gas temp: 850 degF in 30-40min
Dryer should not be heated up too quickly because - components and ducting absorb heat and expand slightly
Dryer unit should be kept as a slight negative draft at all times
Dryer warmup period could co-incide with last stage of coverter warmup
Dryer should be started when converter temp within 350 def of operating temperature...so about 1100 deg F (to light the burner, draft should be about .7"H2O)*
Rotate drum when temperature at 350 deg F*
CONVERTER
Oxygen content of gas stream exiting Converter Unit - 4-6%
Converter warmup - 0 - 1500 degF in 90 mins. As burner level changed, system draft affected..should maintain 0.0-0.4 in H20
as gases burn, they will add energy to the system and cause temperatures to rise
EVAPORATIVE COOLING UNIT
Evaporative Cooling Unit - Targeted water delivery pressure - 75-80psi. Targeted atomizing air pressure = 85-90psi
Evaporative Cooling Unit - (reduce temp of gases entering baghouse) - Inlet temperature to baghouse to not exceed 400 degF. Targeted outlet temperature 325 degF
Nozzle Inspection: Periodic inspection should be done on a regular basis, to ensure water spray is effective. Water will cause buildup on walls
BAGHOUSE
Baghouse Average operating temperature: 325 deg F
Baghouse exit gas temperature should not fall below 270 degF. or liquids can condense out of the gas stream and build up on the baghouse walls
Baghouse tube sheet differential, activates a pulse jet cleaning system. pressure drop 3-6 inches H2O. Pulse cleaning system to be tuned to allow cleaning system to be on while maintaining a min of 3" pressure drop. Pulse fast as possible while maintaining 3" drop. Air pressure to system 40-60psi.
Baghouse Inlet temperature: must not exceed 400 degF
Pulseboard to be programmed
200-300 milliseconds duration of pulse
time between pulses should be about 9 seconds, for 9 row baghouse
Bags will last longer if pulsed at 60 psi
SCRUBBER
NaOH (pH loop) on automatic, so NaOH added as necessary
make up solution received at 46% w/w NaOH
fresh water level to be maintained
AIR COMPRESSOR
ECC Atomizing Air: 70-90psig
Baghouse cleaning air: 40-60psi
Air Operated Control Valves: 20-40psi
AIRLOCKS
should be turned on before lightoff to confirm proper functionality
should be kept running for 10 mins after rotary dryer is shut off and 10 mins after baghouse pulse have been turned off
must prevent material from sitting on airlocks. It will draw moisture and solidify. This is why airlocks should be run as described above.
start soil/clay feeder
Make sure fresh water is in scrubber*
ensure acid control system working*
start water to pugmill*
activate quench water pump and leave on recycle*
ID fan damper should be closed
, when 1st burner lit, maintain .2"H20 at dryer unit breech
Activate burner blower for converter
Start Air Compressor
Activate burner on dryer (when 350 deg of converter operating temp)
start rotating drum when gas temp 350 deg F
Normal Operating Guidelines - (PLANT SHOULD BE OPERATED WITH LOWEST TEMPERATURES FOUND TO PRODUCE SOIL TREATMENT STANDARDS)
Boiling point of the contaminants is the chief parameter to consider for treatment temperature
