Hand Rendered Logo Process
Digital Rendered Logo Process
• Carefully examine and clarify all requirements, objectives and
constraints of your brief through the use of Coggle.
• Identify and apply the design elements and principals of design
• Research existing Superhero names and display your findings
through word association.
• Identify your Skills/Name/Colour for your new Super Hero.
What’s power’s do you want to have?
• Research typefaces and display the Super Hero’s name using
at least 10 fonts.
• Be aware of various logo styles through demonstrating 50
black and white concept logos.
• Further develop 10 thumbnail sketches (remember thumbnails
are quick sketches) including colour.
• Post onto Connect discuss board and seek feedback from at
least 3 peers and display your feedback in your visual diary.
• Produce a final coloured hand rendered logo.
• Produce a style guide for your created logo.
• Scan your final hand rendered logo and import into Adobe
Illustrator.
• Lock your scan to the art board.
• Use brushes and the pen tools to recreate your logo.
• Apply chosen colours to finalise your logo.
• Produce a range of scaled logos to ensure that it is functional.
• Produce a contact sheet displaying colour breakdown and
evidencing your scaled logos.

Image size: If bitmap elements are needed 300 PPI (Photoshop)
Colour: Full colour - CMYK
Assessment Criteria
To achieve a satisfactory result, your assessor will be looking for your
ability to demonstrate the key skills/tasks/knowledge to an acceptable industry standard
• Has the student understood the design process?
• Has the student researched existing Super Heroes?
• Has the student identified the various logotypes?
• Has the student applied an appropriate typeface to the name?
• Has the student produced hand rendered and digital logo
designs?
• Has the student produced a contact sheet?
• Has the student met the criteria for soft submission?
• Has the student met the prescribed deadline?
• Has the student submitted to the prescribed drop box in
Connect?
