employer - duty to provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risk to health
where the employer has employed someone not sufficiently competent to perform the tasks required, the employer may be liable for any damage suffered as a result of the employee. The incompetence has to be foreseeable.
Practical jokes - if the employer is aware of such actions and does nothing to prevent them, he will be liable for any injuries sustained as a result of a practical joke.
