2.40 respiration continues day and night, but net exchange of CO2 and O depends on intensity of light
-
-
during the day (high light intensity) plants make more oxygen by photosynthesis than they use in respiration. So in daylight, they release oxygen. They also use up more carbon dioxide than they produce, so they take in carbon dioxide.
at night though (light intensity low) plants only respire - not enough light for photosynthesis. Meaning they take in oxygen and release CO2 - just like people
