ICS Special Education Process: (or This is How Special Education Referrals Happen at My Current School)
(Elyn Nollan)
1) Teacher notices that a student often falls asleep during class and frequently turns in assignments late or not at all. Teacher checks and notes that student's grades are far lower than they should be when compared with evidence of student intelligence. Teacher also notices that student is frequently anxious and seeks to be alone, often places fingers in ears, has difficulty gripping a pencil/pen correctly, and often makes comments or behaves in ways that are inappropriate or incongruous in class.
