Cost
Made to order (JIT)
Self assembled
Mass produced
A more expensive option
Don't have to pay for storage
No pressure to offload stock
Cheap options
Reduce material cost by ordering lower quality alternatives
Reduce the research time
Premium options
My product should be a premium product in order to fit in with the design philosophy of Nest retailers
Cheaper price per unit, can make a better profit
Have to pay for storage
More pressure to offload the stock
Hard to order the right amount, too much and wasted stock. Too little, and lost profits
Don't have to pay people to assemble the product, save money
Inconvenience for the consumer
Less space needed, can store more and packaging is cheaper.
Reduce the size of the product, this will reduce the amount of materials and packaging needed
Will attract more people
Will make a larger profit
Price
Not confirmed, but somewhere around the £50 - £100 mark
Cost to produce
Should be somewhere in the middle, not so cheap that the product quality will be reflected, but no too much that there is barely any profit made
Will cost to prototype, depending on the success rate, it could be low cost, or cost more if more prototypes are needed
Materials
Could use materials that can be reused and recycled
May not appeal to the consumer
May not look as premium
Will buy the materials from one supplier, this should reduce the cost of the product materials.
The materials may change throughout the designing process.
