Deborah Robertis
In 2014, Deborah Robertis sat infront of Courbet's painting the Orrigin of the World 'Origine du la Monde') and openly display's their vagina to the audience in the gallery - it is a planned but impromptu protest where the artist wanted to show the hole - the area which is missing in Courbet's painting - the entrance of the vagina - and it is a comment on the fact that this is not shown in the painting - what is so fearsome of seeing the entrance of the vagina - is it the unknown - the fact that you cannot see inside the hole?
