Process of Translation
Initiation
Small ribosomal subunit Binds to mRNA by recognizing 5' cap, positioning itself at the start codon. Hydrolysis happens of GTP and Large ribosomal subunit completes the initiation complex. Initator tRNA is in P site and with the open A site, transition initiation complex is there.
Elongation
Codon is recognized, 2 GTP hydrolysis, peptide bond formation, Translocation, ribosomes ready for next aminoacyl tRNA
Termination
Stop Codon (UAG, UAA, UGA) signals the binding of the release factor. Releasing the polypeptide thus the free polypeptide is loose and the entire complex is disassembled only gives you the PRIMARY STRUCTURE
All three phases require protein factors that aid in the translation process, both initiation and chain elongation require energy provided by the hydrolysis of GTP
In prokaryotic cells, there can be free ribosomes. One single message can be messaged by many ribosomes which allows for sufficient levels of the proteins
