Clinical features of MIS
MIS is a histopathological definition. cells are confined to the epidermis, above the basement membrane. pagetoid spread is through the epidermis. can be varigations in colour,red, blue, grey and black from melanocytes, melanoma or manalin from macrophages is in the dermis.

unknown genetic predisposition to sun exposure. chromosome 9p21 mutations of cyclin dependent kinase inhibitors 2A and kinase 4 which are usually tumour supressor genes. 66% of melanocytes are BRAF gene motations triggered by solar radiation
Diagnosis
6 signs:
A Asymetry.
B: Border is irregular.
C:Colour is not uniform. D: diameter is >6mm,
D; also "ugly duckling". E: Elevation is almost always present and irregular, surface distortion can be seen by side lighting.
