Peace Collapse
Appeasement
Reasons For
British people wanted peace, because of wanting peace Britain would give Hitler what he wanted so no war would break out of it
-
At the time many of Hitlers complains seemed reasonable, more especially because of the Treaty of Versailles.

Steps leading to WW2
Austria
In 1938, Hitler invaded Austria after encouraging the Austria nazi to demand union Germany. This also broke the treaty
Czechoslovakia
When Hitler's troops marched to the rest of Czechoslovakia in 1939 , G.B. realized that to stop they would need to start a war.
Rhineland
Hitler invaded Rhineland in 1936 which broke the treaty but once again G.B. and France did nothing about it
USSR/Nazi Pact
In summer 1939,Hitler threatened to take over Poland in Hitler made the Nazi-Soviet Pact with Stalin - a promise not to go to war with each other and (secretly) a promise to invade Poland and split it between them..
-
Poland
In 1939, Hitler invaded Poland, due to the "Polish Guarantee" (promise to defend) Chamberlain had to declare war.
Saar Plebiscite
The Treaty put the Saarland under League of Nations control and allowed the French to run it for the next fifteen years. At the end of that time the people of the Saar would vote to decide their future. In 1935 Nine out of every ten Saarlanders voted to return to Germany. For Hitler, this was the first small step towards the union of all Germans in Germany. He was also able to claim that the plebiscite was a demonstration of support for his government.
-
Nazi Soviet Pact
Germany
If he made alliance with Germany he would get half of Poland and time to prepare for the coming war with Germany
Stalin choose to side with hitler, hence the name of the pact
