Charles defeated Muslim raiders from Spain at the Battle of Tours. The battles were highly significant because he was made out to be a Christian Hero.
Victory
Once Charles passed he passed on his power to his son, Pepin the Short.
Pepin agreed to to fight the Lombards, to become "king by the Grace of God."

War- Charles led his armies and made policies ineffective to the kingdom. This led conflict which resulted many groups to form.
Martel extended the Franks' reign to the north, south, and east.
