Mechanical Properties
Young's Modulus
a measure of elasticity, equal to the ratio of the stress acting on a substance to the strain produced.
Yield Strength
a measure of the ability of a material to withstand a longitudinal stress, expressed as the greatest stress that the material can stand without breaking
-
Elongation
the amount of extension of an object under stress, usually expressed as a percentage of the original length.
Hardness
However, the term may also refer to stiffness or temper, or to resistance to scratching, abrasion, or cutting. ... In metallurgy hardness is defined as the ability of a material to resist plastic deformation.
Fatigue strength
the highest stress that a material can withstand for a given number of cycles without breaking — called also endurance strength; compare fatigue limit.
-
Thermal Properties
Melting Point
The temperature at which a given material changes from a solid to a liquid, or melts; the same temperature as freezing point.
Max. service temperature
The strength of a material tends to fall quickly when a certain temperature is reached. This temperature limits the maximum operating temperature for which the material is useful.
For metals the maximum operating temperature is usually around two thirds of the melting temperature.

Recycle Mark
g codes are used to identify the material from which an item is made, to facilitate easier recycling or other reprocessing. Having a recycling code, the chasing arrows logo or a resin code on an item is not an automatic indicator that a material is recyclable but rather an explanation of what the item is.
