Electronic Mail (e-Mail)
• E-mail is an internet service that allows the
transmission of messages and files via a
computer network.

attachments, such as documents, graphics, or
audio/video clips.

• Email program allows users to create, send,
receive, forward, store, print, and delete email
messages.
• Integrates with chat, instant messaging, or
voice/video call, and social network.
• Provides free online storage, fast and
productive interface, effective spam filtering.
• E-mail address is a combination of a username
and a domain name that identifies a user so that
he or she can receive Internet e-mail.
• A username is a unique combination of
characters, such as letters of the alphabet and/or
numbers, that identifies a specific user.
Message Board
• An Internet site where users can post
comments about a particular issue or topic
and reply to other users' postings.

• Also called Internet Forum.
• Other names - discussion board, discussion
group, discussion forum, and online forum.

• A forum can contain a number of subforums,
each of which may have several topics.
• Within a forum's topic, each new discussion
started is called a thread, and can be replied
to by as many people as so wish.
• Depending on the forum's settings, users can
be anonymous or have to register with the
forum and then subsequently log in in order
to post messages.

• A real-time Internet service that notifies you
when one or more people are online and
allows you to exchange messages or files or
join a private chat room with those people.

• The World Wide Web (WWW or W3),
commonly known as the Web, is a system of
interlinked hypertext documents accessed via

that may contain text, image, video, and other
multimedia, and navigate between them via
hyperlinks.
