It is a privilege to have these devices in the classroom, thus they are to be handled gently and with care.
Are the devices in one area?
In a cart?
On the students desks?
Folders, or Cubby's?
Do the devices aid in learning, or do they cause a disconnect in the lesson?
Some devices can be distracting and take away from the lesson as others act as a tool to assist learning in the classroom (ex. Laptops or tablets can have educational games/ apps for searching, communicating etc.
Issues In Managing Devices
Are the devices being used a distraction?
Are the students using their own devices?
Are the devices provided by the school?
Are the devices managed in the classroom?
What will you do as a teacher to discipline/ implement correct uses of technology in the classroom?
If devices are used improperly, are they given strikes, warnings, deductions etc.
Can you take away/ forbid device usage?
How will you respond if you upset a student while dealing with this issue?
