Church and anybody apart of it is to accept people that have been baptized In the faith and treat them as family.

A call to Mission
Baptism calls us to go out and spread the good news of the Lord to others. We should do our duties as believers of Christ to spread the good news.
Rights & Duties
Our rights as catholics are being able to receive the other sacraments like communion and confirmation
Our duty is to live out our life like christ did and help all people feel welcome from God and love everyone and help them get to heaven

Receiving the child, parents and godparents accept responsibility
The parents are accepting their duty to raise the child in the Catholic faith and the godparents will help the parents

Explanatory Rites
Anointing with chrism oil (only for infants) after baptism, clothing with the white garment, lighted candle, ephphetha (prayer over ears and mouth)

If they die before baptism, the Church invites us to pray for them and trust in God’s mercy

When the Ephphatha prayer is said at the Baptism of a baby it is a statement as to the sacramental relationship that the child now has with God. It is a statement of hope that the child will grow up in that loving relationship with our Trinitarian God and will not only hear the Word of God but will also act on that word and share it with others!
