Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles set up the league and every nation had signed it.
It had no army.
They couldn't defend themselves from an attack from stronger armies.
Decisions were hard to make because they had to be unanimous.
The league's aims were too ambitious so they weren't able to do as much.
The league took home half a million prisoners of war from WW1
The league sent economic experts to help Austria when it's government went bankrupt.
Bulgaria and Greece
Greece had to pull out of Bulgaria in 1925 as to stop war between them from breaking out.
Italy took over Corfu and the league couldn't stop them.
The poles invaded and took over Vilna.
65 countries signed this treaty that was made to end war but they all ignored it.
