RHYTHM
Throughout long notes will be used, This is once again done to emphasize the mood and to slowly develop suspense and fear through the elongated notes. However at the same time shorter notes will be used at other times to represent ragged and jumpiness, emphasizing the character who doesn't know where to go or what to do.

Time signature
Odd meter of 5/4 is used because it sounds weird, disjointed and scary compared to the meters that are most commonly used. this will be successful in using for horror music since that is the mood and style we are aiming for.

STRUCTURE
Repetitive melodic lines, to emphasise the characters helplessness and to show that the main character is stuck and confused, trying different ways to run away or escape from nosferatu. The repetition emphasizes how many times he is trying, but nosferatu “repeatedly” finds him. In general there is no conventional structure that the piece sticks to, horror music defies the rule of standard music making.

MELODY

Disjunct sounds should ragged and jumpy in order to emphasize that the character is all over the place and he doesn't really know what is happening, what to do or where to go.

When he is running away after seeing nosferatu, more suspense may be added through introducing a hint of heavy metal, This will be done using distorted guitars. Low power chords or a loud solo will create a pounding beat and suspense to replicate his pulse.
DYNAMICS
Should start off very soft (Pianissimo or Piano) and gradually get louder (crescendo) → in order to build a suspenseful mood for upcoming scenes.
TEMPO
Slow and suspenseful at first, gradually increasing in speed during certain sections.
