Baptism is a sign that you are ready to receive God's word so after baptism we have to continue to prove that we are willing to accept him

Infant Baptism
Death of an infant before Baptism
When an infant dies before baptism they are not accountable for not being baptized. No where in the bible is there a certain age that a child must die before being baptized. The church invites us to pray over the young child and trust in God's mercy.
God Parents
The role of the godparents is to help the newly baptized person grow in their faith. They must be strong believers in the faith, and they must help the parents develop and protect the grace of the Infant received at Baptism
Why baptize Infants?
The Catholic Church teaches that Baptism is both necessary for salvation and regenerative, causing us to be reborn as children of God. Through Baptism we receive the life-giving, sanctifying grace of the Holy Spirit. This grace wipes away Original Sin that stains each soul because of the fallen nature we inherited from Adam and Eve.
Baptism of Infants
- Anointing with chrism oil (only for infants) after baptism, clothing with the white garment, lighted candle, ephphetha (prayer over ears and mouth)
- Blessing and Invocation of God over Baptismal Water, renunciation of sin and profession of faith, Baptism
- The parents answer as if they were the child because they will raise that child to have those beliefs

Meaning of Baptism

- Part of Body of Christ: called to be priest, prophet, or king.To avoid sin and selfishness we are baptized in a new community and is bonded over communion in the Catholic church
Chance of eternal life. . It requires us to participate in the liturgy and to live out our baptismal priesthood and to live a holy life and loving others. If we are disciples of God and listen to Him, we will be let into the Kingdom.
