Connie was shown as being hostile to Arnold when he first came up to the house, but the other side of Connie was exhilarated to go with Arnold to see all the things he could offer even though she knew that she shouldn't go with him.
Point of View
3rd Person Limited
The reader see's Connie's emotions throughout the story and this helps the reader understand her fear when Arnold comes to the house. When Connie tries to call the police she starts hallucinating that he was in the house about to hurt her, but in reality, she walks out to him of her own free will.
Being 3rd person limited, it shows Connie's many emotions which shows how she has two sides to her personality.
Imagery
The author uses language to focus on Arnold's physical presence such as "thighs" and "buttocks". This shows Arnold's sexual side.
