Political: Poland has faced several and political issues in the 1980s-1990s. First of all, when Gorbachev stopped providing military support to communist governments, the Soviet Union showed a sign of weakness. In 1980, Walsea established a national trade union, known as Solidarity. Due to concerns that Poland would break from the Soviet Union, Walsea was arrested; however, this showed a greater weakness. Finally, in 1988, after all of the efforts from Polish citizens, the Polish regime agreed to parliamentary elections. Later, a new government was formed.
Political: Adding to the other countries, Romania faced a severe political issue. They were led by a communist leader, Nicolae Cequsescu, who ordered the secret police to murder peaceful demonstrators. Soon, he and his wife were captured and executed. A new government was quickly formed.
