Drug wars have a huge affect on the economy. Due to the high poverty rate, people turn to drugs to make money while Colombia is the world's highest cocaine producer. Violent acts come to this leaving 35,000 killed over drug wars.

South America moved towards democratic governments to try to resolve the social and economic problems, but they have little success with some countries while others haven't changed.

The population in Africa is growing. This is leading to serious problems effecting the AIDS pandemic.

Poverty is the biggest problem in Africa. People live in slums with major pollution and most citizens are underweight.

Africa has found was to address politics with creating the African Union. It promotes democracy, economic growth, and settles disputes.

Social
Iran has strict laws against women rights and they don't allow free press or assembly. This created protests that were violent and caught on camera to be posted on the internet.
Economical
Iran is ruled under Muslim clerics. They are suppliers of an oil industry which is bringing income for the Middle East.
Political
The Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) was made to create peace between Israel and Palestine, but hasn't worked. They fight with violent terrorist attacks over Jerusalem.

China's population is rapidly growing so in 1979 they acted upon a one-child policy. Couples who have only one child will reach some health benefits.

Japan had a striving economy, but fell at the real estate market crisis in the 1980s. Job security, retirement savings, and employment decreased.

China wanted to modernize their society with four modernization in agriculture, industry, technology, and national defense. They sent students abroad to study mathematics , science, and technology. Later these students helped modernize

Problems between Hindus and Muslims have become violent, leading to nuclear warheads. This also affects the diplomatic relationships.

India is one of the world's fastest growing economy. With reforms from 1991, foreign investments and market economy made India's economy very large.
