Middle East
Economic: The Middle East is struggling with unemployment, growing poverty, and poor education.
Social: With the strict enforcement of Islamic law, it is limiting basic rights to the people and it is bringing up conflict within the region.
Political: The Middle East faces problems with political instability. Iran is strictily enforcing Islamic law which is limiting rights of the people.
Eastern Europe:
Political: In Poland there was a new government that was elected and in Czchoslovatcia intellectuals opposed the government and mass demonstrations took place.

Economic: The economic growth is making big improvements there is now less of a gap between the rich and poor in this certain region.
Political: In South America they transitioned to democracy and it reformed social and economis structures.
North America

Political: Fox and the National Action Party defeated the Institutuional Revolutionary Party for presidency, the contributed to the rise of the multi-party system.
Africa
Economic: Economically Africa is struggling with poverty. Most of the continent is only earning a salary of less than two dollars a day.
Social: In Africa, most of the continent is having disputes over religion leading to violence.
Political: Some countries are starting to move toward more political stability. Although some countires are improving, most of the continentis still struggling to make change and they are over flowing with problems.
Western Europe
Political: Leaders of Western Europe faced many economic challenges at the end of the twentieth century .

Social: France faced problems as resentment grew against foriegn born residents, especially Muslims.
East Asia
Economic: The economic groth in China has led to the prediction that it will become an economic superpower.

Political: A new government was created in China came into play after Mao left to modernize China’s industry, agriculture, technology, and national defense.
