Changes after the Cold War
Eastern Europe
One major
political change
is the end of the Soviet Union which caused many issues, and caused many countries to split and form new countries and governments to appear. One example of a country splitting is Czechoslovakia, which turned into Czech Republic and Slovakia.
One
economic change
was when the communist government collapsed it caused an uprising in most countries. This is due to the fact that the Soviet Union was so broken down and damaged. One example of a country succeed.
Soviet Union- There are many
social changes
in Eastern Europe. Glasnost is a example of a social change because it allowed civilians to openly discuss political, social, and economic issues but also give good ideas about the government.
North America
One
social change
in North America was the change of the Prime Minister. This was due to Canadians thinking NAFTA was too favorable to the United States. The Prime Minister was blamed for this because he agreed to the terms of NAFTA.
One major
economic change
that had happened in North America, specifically the United States, was the Reagan Revolution. This took the United States in a total different direction. This was the cutting of spending on food stamps, school lunch programs, and job programs. Although all this information may sound negative, there was an upside. The money that was previously used for all these issues was being used for the military. This caused Reagan to be responsible for the largest military buildup in history.

political change
that happened in North America was the NAFTA trade agreement. This was a trade agreement between Canada, United States, and Mexico. It was created to make trade easier and more profitable.
Western Europe
One major
economic change
was the Euro. This was a major goal by the United Nation, this is because all the countries had different types of currency, making traveling more complicated that it needs to be. This was a great accomplishment, which replaced 17 currencies, 327 million people.
There were obviously many
political changes
that took place after the fall of the Soviet Union. One was that they added 12 new members to the EU, these members mostly consisted of Eastern Europeans. These new members consisted of nations that became independent after the fall of the Soviet Union. Some of these new members consisted of countries such as Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia.

social change
that took place in Western Europe was the fact that the EU discussed and passed The Treaty on European Union. This treaty changed the EC into the EU because of the fact that they added new countries into their union. This treaty took into effect on November 1, 1993.
South/ Central America
Economic Changes
in Latin America is the high rate of poverty. It is becoming slightly improved, however.
Social Changes
in Latin America include it being very difficult to separate from the reliance of foreign countries but they also succeeded in creating a more social structure.
Political Changes
in Latin America is that they have oppressive rule and have many struggles in creating democratic governments.
Africa
Political Changes
in Africa are very complicated. In some areas they are being taken over by brutal dictators, while in others they are starting to make progress in their government. In the south of the Sahara they are very mixed but hard to control because of how low the income is in some areas.
One example of a
social change
was when North Africa and the Middle East were changed by and immense uprising that led to the change in Tunisia and Egypt.
Economic Changes
in Africa are very extreme in most places. Many are living with under two dollars a day. Specifically south of the Sahara is very extreme in poverty.
Middle East
Political changes
in the middle east include being plagued with political instability, ethnic tensions, and more. Efforts to have peace between Israelis and Palestinian's have failed due to many terrorist attacks and disputes over territory.
Economic Changes
in the Middle East are very bad. They have high amounts of poverty and high unemployment. They have many issues in these areas.
Many areas, such as Iran have many restrictions and specifically lower the amount of rights given to children, different races, women, and more. These are examples of
social changes

East Asia
One
economic change
example was in Japan. They have had economic issues due to the fall of the Soviet Union. Japan is in deflation which is slow economic growth and the decline in prices.
Since the fall of the Soviet Union, North Korea has gained access to all their weapons. This is an example of a
political change.

was the one-child policy. This was created to slow down and decrease the population. This is due to the huge population of China. This law was then cancelled due to the reports of Italy where the ratio of seniors to employed people was off. This would have happened to China if they went through with this law.
South/ South East Asia
Political Changes
in south Asia are very different, in some places like Cambodia, they have a devastating changes and they changes are still very extreme to this day. However
Social Changes
in south Asia were primarily positive. Many trading routes and other advantages came out of this.
Economic Changes
in south Asia include very wide varieties of people. Many people are in great poverty while others are flourished.
