Social
Conditions are terrible in Yugoslavia, more so than Poland, Romania, and Czechoslovakia. Serbians attack Bosnia, using ethnic cleansing to get rid o the Muslims, who populated the state.
Political
Communist government collapses in Czechoslovakia, and suffered politically repressive conditions. This revolution was a very peaceful end to communism. Their government was changed to democracy.
Economic
In Poland an international trade union was established known as Solidarity. Solidarity essentially means the support of an entire group of people. This group wins the support of the church.
Western Europe
Political
The refunification of Germany impacted the government and economy greatly. The end of the cold war was the end of spilt between Germany. The government had many problems to fix after the wall splitting the two parts of Germany was taken down.
Social
In the 1995 resentment against foreign-born residents became a reality. The most noticiable was the resenment of Muslims.
Economic
The EU started a new common currency so that all of the European countries used the same currency. This currency is called the euro. The euro is used in 17 nations.
North America
Social
The women's movement had a backlash in the 1990s. Currently gender equality is getting better but there are still many problems to fix.
Economic
A big problem in the United States was the budget deficits when federal spending went up to a trillion dollars.

The NAFTA is a free trade agreement in North America. This way The United States, Mexico and Canada can easily trade among each other.

El Salvador still struggles with the effect of a violent civil war and gang violence. This has changed the way most citizens go about their lives daily. They need to be careful who talk with.

The wars between the drug cartels in Mexico has killed people and caused chaos. The government has had aa hard time trying to get rid of these drug cartels. This has caused political instability in Mexico.
Economic
In Brazil one problem was the gap between rich and poor so the countries president expanded the middle class to help the economy. To increase the middle class public education and economic growth created the middle class.
Africa
Social
Rapid population growth is a major concern in Africa. The populations has grown by 2.3%. This increased poverty majorly in Sierra, Lion, Togo, and Eritrea.
Political
The European Union has helped Africa to work toward political inigration throughout Africa to decrease poverty. multi party elections.
Economic
Côte d'vore they have experienced major economic fallout. In the past, Abidjan which is a city within Côte d'vore was a shining, populated city. Due to the Civi War, this city is undeveloped and full of poverty.
Middle East

The economy after the Cold War is bad and one of the reasons is the poor education. Another problem is the gap between rich and poor. The government is woring towards increasing the middle class and having more trade.
Political
Efforts at peace between Israel and Palestine continues to fall.Over and over the government tries to fix the problem. Even with these efforts their religious differences keep them from making any compromises.
East Asia
Social
China had developed a one child policy. After the Cold War, the population of China rose greatly. The one-child policy is a way to slow the populations growth.
Political
North and South Korea tensions increased. North Korea has increased their nuclear weapons. North and South Korea have tensions because of the difference in their governments.
Economic
China has become an economic power because they joined the World Trade Organization and they have trade relations with America. After the death of Mao the new leader started a market- based economy. Now China is a leader because of their industry.
South/Southeast Asia
Social
There are religious differences between Hindus and Muslims. This caused conflict between India and Pakistan.
Economic
Manmohan Singh carried out economic reforms in India. These reforms helped the economy grow rapidly in India. After the Cold War India's economy struggled so these reformed helped greatly.
Political
In India more parties started to compete with the Congress Party. This stated a political instability that is associated with the tensions between the Hindus and Muslims.
