Social Change
Due to a rapid increase in population, a one-child policy was implemented in China. Any family that adhered to this rule would receive government support and aid.

For almost 30 years, South Korea has been experiencing a growing democracy. All of the old military leaders have been replaced with civilian leaders.
Economic Change
Since the 1990's, Japan has been facing slow economic growth due to deflation. In contrast, South Korea has seen a major economic boom.

Social Change
Czechoslovakia had a peaceful split creating the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The split was because of old ethnic conflicts that started to arise again.

A free market economy was embraced in some countries. One of these countries is Russia. From this and natural resources, Russia has had a budget surplus and a growing economy.

After the fall of the Soviet Union, many countries adopted a democratic government, including Poland. The European Union also formed placing political regulations on many european countries.

Some African nations, such as Uganda, have recently started to combat AIDS. Countries sought to fight AIDS because it is estimated that about two thirds of all people living with AIDS live in Africa.

Many African nations are coming together to form organizations that aspire to decrease economic hardships. These organizations are similar to the EU. Also many African nations are adopting a more western economic structure.

Many Africa nations are changing their governments from being more conservative to being more democratic. One of these countries is Libya
North America
Economic Change
Even with huge amounts of debt and government spending, the U.S. economy has been growing and has even bounced back from a major housing crisis.

NAFTA was thought to be favorable to the US by many Canadians. This led to many citizens in Canada to feel resentment, this caused a change in prime minister.
Political Change
In 1993, Canada, The U.S., and Mexico approved the North American Free Trade Agreement allowing more profitable and easier trade between these countries.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, West Berlin and East Berlin became united again after 28 years of being separated

After the Soviet Union collapses, East and West Germany were reunited. This new Germany adopted a democratic government because of how well this government had worked for West Germany

Social Change
New uprisings by young people are starting to occur in countries like Egypt. These protests have caused the imprisonment of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak due to his oppression.
Economic Change
Many Middle Eastern countries, such as Saudi Arabia, have become less reliant on oil and governments have began to promote other employment opportunities
Political Change
Many countries in the Middle East struggle with political instability due to radical religious and rebel groups fighting for control of countries like Syria.
South/Central America
Social Change
The greatest social changes in Mexico have been the drug wars that have killed many and how poverty stricken the country has become. Due to the poverty, teens get into drug cartels as transporters and the trend continues as they have kids and so on.
Economic Change
South American countries have had a better transition than Central America since the Cold War. South American Countries have transitioned into a free market economy. However, countries in Latin America such as Mexico have had major issues including drug cartels and poverty across the country.
Political Change
Since the Cold War, there have been many political changes in Latin American countries. Countries such as Brazil and Chile have pushed for democracy and have made changes to increase free trade policies.

Political Change
After the cold war, new political parties have started to emerge and take hold in countries like India. Some countries, including the Philippines, have also started to move toward democracy despite financial troubles
Economic Change
Since the end of the Cold War, India has become one of the strongest economies in the world. They have embraced foreign investment and a free market economy to help develop and strengthen their economy.

There has been an increasing conflict between the The Hindus and Muslims of India and Pakistan. This is due to religious differences
