North America
Social
Quebec just barely had enough votes to stay in Canada and they have always been thinking about seceding for decades. American people have been debating what party should actually take control instead of going back and fourth to right and left.
Economics
The Regan Administration spent considerably more amount of money then past administration did causing the US to go into debt and a budget crisis.
Political
The US government was switching from Democrat to Republican power as the Cold War was ending. Canadian government leaders also switched to this system because of constant economic issues in Quebec.
Africa
Social
Health pandemics are spread very rapidly in African nations such as HIV and AIDS and are a huge concern to this region.
Economics
Many nations are very poor and have very high poverty rates but however rapid population growth has shown a large decrease in economic growth.
Political
Many nations are still ruled by brutal dictatorships and many are starting to become more stable but all mostly are still faced with many problems.
East Asia
Social
After control from Mao was past policies of letting their people act more like themsekves and give opinions have showed. in 1979 China adopted the one child policy stopping the growth of population so rapidly.
Economics
China's economy rapidly grew in the 1990s which led to poor working conditions for many people and low salaries for many civilians living in this region. Japan however was growing well until slipping into recession in the 1990s.

Social
Groups of people rebel from the government. People were unhappy that everyone made the same amount of money doing any job and caused rebellion and protests from these people.
Economics
Goods and services under communism start to fail and become less useful and be worth less then before. Economic policies led to a sharp drop in living standards for people in these countries causing starvation and malnourishment.
Political
Communism falls and countries have to form a new government forms. The Soviet Union falls creating new problems for developing and developed countries. while also creating new chances for countries.
Middle East
Social
Many religions such as Christians, Jews, and Muslims all believe Israel as their holy land causing it to be a very dangerous region for civilians living in the Middle East.
Economics
Many growing poverty rates and the amount of unemployment has created a dramatic downfall in Middle Eastern Economy.
Political
Protests in Egypts resulted in the execution and sentence to prison of the current president of Egypt and they continue to have an elected government.
Western Europe
Social
Symbols of Communism that were shown in the country were destroyed which helped many countries including the destruction of the Berlin Wall.
Economics
Unemployment rates became very high causing shortages in goods and services. The European Union (EU) was formed and created a common currency to increase the wealth of Western Uropean countries.

Social
Countries with rivalry India and Pakistan dealt with major instability which has lead to arguing and fighting among the main groups of Hindus and Muslims.
Economics
India has used service and industry to show growth in their economy. Since 1992 many of these countries in Southeast Asia have shown a clear growth in their economy.
Political
Many countries in South and Southeast Asia have moved toward democracy but these nations are stil facing many problems such as political unrest in Indonesia and terrorism in the Philippines.
South/Central America
Social
Hurricanes and Earthquakes have destroyed countries in South and Central America such as Haiti and Honduras. Honduras has has had to deal with gang violence and and police violence. Also El Savador has been through a very bloody civil war.
Economics
Income inequality has become a big issue in Latin America. Programs for increased public education and greater economic growth have helped this though however.
Political
Many countries in Central America have decided to switch their governments to democracy showing many advantages in their new system.
