In Kosovo the KLA was formed to campaign against Serbian Rule. Kosovo was a self governing province until the Serbs stripped them from their autonomy. The Serbs then massacred all ethnic Albanians and eventually the Albanians in Kosovo regained their autonomy in 1999.
