Opportunities
Entrance way
The gate/entrance to the bank will need to be able to automatically lock at all times to ensure no student wonders off unsupervised.
The gate will need to be made of steel or metal as wood will rot over time and wouldn't withstand floods as well compared to steel.
Kiosk
One side of the kiosk can display the history of the land and river. Past generations and trees and animals that use to live within close proximity of the river bank.
Map or chart of the area along the bank that can highlight the different terrains and have a legend of different areas of activities or structures.
Fauna and flora
Research and caution will be required to ensure that no native trees, plants and animals are not destroyed in the construction and once all structures are completed a sign will need to be placed to warn students and staff the importance of the environment down the bank.
Separate signage can be placed along the pathways providing the history behind each plant or true and animals that still and once lived there.
Deck platforms
A deck can be placed for both a research area for students for assignments and activities during and after school (fishing etc.).

Pathways/trails
Pathways will need to be placed down by the bank to ensure the safety of students and staff and not have them wondering off in the wrong direction and possibly have them ruining the flora and fauna of the area and injuring themselves.
Pathways will need to withstand a considerable amount of water when it floods, when the tides are high or have pathways that can be easily replaced environmentally and economically. Possibly have man made pathways using the resources provided by the river bank or concrete foundation.
BBQ Area
A BBQ area could be built to entice students and staff to enjoy the nature they're surrounded by and gather in a group and chat. Head of Years could also use the BBQ for their year level creating unity within grades.
Seating
Benches or tables can be placed down by the river for students who wish to spend their break in the nature or if classes go down to the bank for their lessons seating will be needed.
Animals
Due to the fact that no observation is made 24 hours a day it is unsure to determine 100% what animals live and come by the bank. Because of this all structures will need to be environmentally friendly and pose no potential risks to the area.
