Technology I Use
Computers
Mac Pro: My desktop computer is my command center: the machine I use for practically everything (i.e. writing, video editing, audio production, graphic design, school assignments).
-
Acer Computer Monitor: Computers are difficult to use when you are unable to see what you are doing.
Mobile Devices
iPhone 6S: My go-to tool for communicating with friends and family, answering emails, and killing time with games of sudoku. It also serves as my camera when recording my face for Youtube videos.
iPad Mini: I primarily use my tablet for recreation: watching online videos, playing video games for my own online videos, and Facetiming my friends. In the past, it served as my main music production platform.
Software
Graphic Design
Adobe Photoshop: The quintessential tool for photo-editing, designing album art, and creating custom Youtube thumbnails.
Adobe Illustrator: The best tool for logo design that I know, and probably the best one there is.
Adobe InDesign: When teachers ask for visual aids for presentations such as brochures or posters, this is the best software for the job.
Video Production
iMovie: It may not be the easiest video-editing software to use, but its free and it's good for what I need to do.
Audio Production
Logic Pro: Effective, easy-to-use software that does not require an array of external hardware.
Personal Writing
Pages: A software for macOS / iOS that is very flexible when it comes to formatting and seamlessly shares documents across my computers and iPad.
-
Google Docs / Google Slides / Google Sheets: The automatic saving feature and seamless sharing with other users makes Google programs ideal for group assignments.
Why do I use so many Apple products? Growing up, it was never a question about whether to by a Mac or a PC. In my home, Apple reigns supreme. My father is a huge fan of Apple products and so I grew up using Macs. They are the products I am most familiar with and the most comfortable using.
Shirt Design
Silhouette Cameo: An effective and affordable heat-press vinyl cutter that can print designs I produce on my computer.
Gaming
Nintendo
Nintendo 64: Even though the system is about twenty years old, it still works and I enjoy playing it.
-
Wii U: For when you can't find a Nintendo Switch in any store and really want to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
-
Other Devices
Canon Inkjet Printer: A reliable printer that also serves as a copier, fax machine, and scanner.
Focusrite DI Box: When I need to record an instrument, this device enables my computer and audio software to read and record sick riffs.
Wi-Fi Network / Internet Router: How am I supposed to see what Dr. J's virtual class assignments are without internet?
